What statuses, badges and colours mean

The same few colours and words are used everywhere in eAML. This page gathers them in one place. Colour is never the only signal: every coloured pill carries a word, and hovering over a stage icon names the stage and what is missing from it.

The colours

ColourUsually means
GreenDone, clear, approved, low risk
Teal or blueIn progress, or information: something is under way
AmberNeeds your attention, medium risk, a warning
RedA problem or a hit: needs review, high risk, declined, a failed attempt
GreyNeutral: not started, not applicable, closed without a decision

A case

The case list’s status filter also offers Under review and Enhanced due diligence. No case takes those statuses today, so those filters stay empty.

StatusColourWhat it means
OpenGreyThe case is being worked and has not been closed.
ApprovedGreenIt was approved (by a senior manager, or by the compliance officer for a jeweller’s sale that is not high risk). The relationship is now monitored.
DeclinedRedIt was rejected at approval. The case is closed.
WithdrawnGreyThe deal fell through: finance rejected, the building and pest inspection failed, cooling-off exercised, mutually rescinded, or another reason you recorded. It is a fact about the deal, not an AML decision, and anyone who works cases can record it at any stage. The case is closed.

A risk rating

A case’s rating is the highest rating of anyone on it. A rating only rises by itself; it comes down only when someone completes risk tiering on the case’s Risk & approval tab.

Shown asColourWhat it means
Low riskGreenNothing found has raised the rating.
Medium riskAmberSomething found raised it to medium (for example a domestic PEP).
High riskRedSomething found raised it to high (for example a foreign PEP, a high-risk country, a complex ownership structure). Enhanced due diligence applies.
Risk tier not set, Not yet assessedGreyNo check or answer has set a rating yet.

The stages on a person’s card

At the top of each card, CDD pending means customer due diligence is not finished, and a count such as 3/4 checks clear says how many of the checks that have come back are clear.

Stage statusColourWhat it means
CompleteGreenEverything this stage needs is in.
In progressTealStarted, with something still missing. The line under the stage says what.
Not startedGreyNothing has been done here yet.
Not applicableGrey, no dotThis stage does not apply to this person (for example Beneficial ownership for an individual).
Starts at approvalGreyOngoing monitoring, which begins once the case is approved.

A check

Shown asColourWhat it means
ClearGreenThe check found nothing.
Needs reviewRedThe check found a possible match. A person decides: eAML does not.
Confirmed matchRedThe check says it is a match. On an identity check this is also how a declined result reads.
Reviewed: not them, Reviewed: no concernGreenSomeone read the hit and recorded that it is not this person, or not a concern.
Reviewed: a concernRedSomeone read the hit and recorded that it is a concern to act on.
Risk consideredGreenSomeone acknowledged a country risk flag and recorded how it was considered.
Awaiting confirmationGreyThe check is ready to run. The button shows the price, and nothing is charged until you confirm.
Not run yetGreyThe check has not been started.
Failed last attemptRedThe check was tried and failed. Select Retry.
PendingGreyThe provider has not answered yet.
