What checks cost, and what is free

Which checks cost money in eAML and which do not, as the application stood on 16 October 2026. Every price is shown on the button and in a confirmation dialog before anything runs, and nothing runs, or is charged, until someone confirms. Prices are set by eAML and can change, so read the one on the button; the figures below are the ones this guide was recorded against.

Where the money comes from

A charged check is taken from the firm’s prepaid wallet at once if it has funds, and otherwise added to the invoice for the billing period. If a funded wallet cannot cover a check it will not run: top the wallet up on the Billing page and run it again. Billing shows the plan’s usage this month, the wallet balance with its top-up amounts and minimum, and every invoice with the checks on it.

The subscription itself is charged up front, and what it includes depends on the plan chosen when the firm signed up. For the wallet, invoices and plan, see the Billing training.
